BCS Session: TRÄ•KÁL: A New Spirit Born in Patagonia

  • Bartender's Circle Summit 600 Pine Street - Floor 2 Seattle, WA, 98101 United States (map)

Discover a new category of Latin spirit made from wild, foraged ingredients at the end of the world.

Join TRÄ•KÁL co-founder and Master Distiller, Sebastian “Seb” Gomez, for an immersive seminar on the creation of a truly original spirit. After years in the corporate spirits world, Gomez spent nearly five years in the Chilean Patagonia working alongside indigenous communities, researching native botanicals, and developing proprietary distillation techniques to bring TRÄ•KÁL to life.

This session explores how a remote landscape and its wild ingredients inspired an entirely new spirits category. Gomez will walk through his distillation process, the unique botanicals that go into TRÄ•KÁL, and how its distinctive flavor profile can be used in cocktails. You’ll also gain insight into what makes Patagonia one of the most compelling terroirs in the spirits world today.

If you're curious about the next frontier of Latin spirits, this is your opportunity to experience something truly different.

Why You Should Attend:

  • Explore a groundbreaking new spirit category shaped by the raw landscape of Patagonia

  • Learn about the native botanicals and foraged ingredients behind TRÄ•KÁL’s distinctive flavor profile

  • Elevate your cocktail program with a versatile, unfamiliar, and conversation-starting spirit

PRESENTED BY

SEBASTIÁN GOMEZ CAMORINO

Co-Founder & Master Distiller
TRÄ•KÁL

Sebastián (Seb) Gomez Camorino is the co-founder and Master Distiller of TRÁ·KÄL, the unique spirit from the Chilean Patagonia.  Seb is Argentine by birth but grew up in New York and London. After graduating university, he was a financial analyst at GE before joining the companies that would later become Diageo PLC. Working out of Miami, FL for Diageo, and covering the Central American, Caribbean and Duty Free markets, it was at this time that he asked the original question that started the project, ‘why has Patagonia never had its own spirit?’. He would look at a back bar and always think, ‘there is a bottle missing there’.

That question persisted for many years and drove him to develop the idea of TRÁ·KÄL in 2011. Sebastian took a risk, quit everything and headed to the part of the world he loved. After time immersed in the culture, ingredients, and local culture, he developed his own proprietary distillation stills and methods to put Patagonia in a bottle.  The result was TRÁ·KÄL, a new spirit that is both the category and the brand, which was also recognized by the TTB, EU and Chilean authorities as its own type of spirit.
