Sarah is an award-winning hospitality professional with an impressive career that spans from New Orleans to the UK. Sarah has ran several award winning cocktail bars, and even won several national and global cocktail competitions which has earned her awards and nominations she is very proud of. She was the UK brand ambassador for Hendrick’s Gin for four and a half years until she traded her rainy days in Scotland for Sunnier ones in California. She has been the USA Western Brand Ambassador for Hendrick’s Gin for just over a year. With a deep love for hospitality and cocktails, she tries to bring a bit of Southern charm, hospitality, and sass wherever she goes.

Hendrick's Gin
Charmaine Thio is the new Global Brand Ambassador for Hendrick’s Gin. A fervent advocate of the curious world of rose and cucumber-infused spirits, she previously served as the regional brand ambassador for Hendrick’s in South-East Asia for seven years - a role that saw her travel extensively, spreading the good word of gin and cucumbers throughout the region.
Born and mostly raised in Singapore, Charmaine has a background in English Literature, creative writing, theatre and performance. She loves to perform and brings just the right amount of theatrical whimsiness to the Hendrick’s Global Ambassador role.
Charmaine’s first ever job was at luxury fashion house, Gucci before she swapped fashion for food and began working in a kitchen of a bar she frequented while writing her English Literature thesis. From the kitchen, the call of the bar beckoned, and Charmaine was soon slinging drinks at some of Singapore’s finest cocktail establishments and worked her way up from bar back to bar manager. In 2018, a serendipitous cat sitting encounter then alerted her to the regional Hendrick’s role and the rest is history. She was listed as one of the Spirited Awards Top 10 Best International Brand Ambassadors in 2023 and 2024.
Another side of Charmaine sees her cultivating carnivorous plants, collecting rocks, teaching dance, and petting cats. Her go-to drink is a Hendrick’s martini with dry sherry instead of dry vermouth, no citrus peel, and a cucumber slice.
